Your Day Isn’t Ruined - It’s Just Rearranged

Here’s how to stop spiralling when your plan goes off track.

Three hours behind on schedule today.

Missed Fajr prayer on time & skipped my quiet morning walk before the whole world woke up.

This newsletter is two hours late, haven’t even started deep work yet…

For a lot of people trying to be discipline they would’ve spiralled.

The'y’d act like the whole day was ruined.

But here’s what I’ve learned or the past few years of improving as a man.

Life doesn’t care about your perfect plan.

Sometimes you’ll oversleep or scroll on your phone first thing in the morning when you know you shouldn’t

But that doesn’t mean the day’s over - it means it’s time to adjust.

Thankfully, I designed my life with no meetings before noon.

So this allows me to have slower mornings and room to slack off on my “not so disciplined days”.

So even if I wake up late I know I have till 12 to get everything done.

But I know for some people they have a job to get to, they have to squeeze in gym, praying, self care etc…

And my advice to you will be the same.

Regardless of whatever happens follow the plan.

Even if you’re behind - just move the pieces around.

If you missed the gym in the morning don’t stress just move it to the evening.

If you didn’t get time to journal, get it done some other time in the day.

If you can’t read in the morning at the exact time you wanted get it done some other time you have in the day.

If you keep messing up your schedule you pay for it by still getting everything done at a more inconvenient time.

BUT!!

This will also makes you don’tt want to repeat the habits that got you behind in the first place.

So no guilt. Just recalibrate.
